As predicted, The Avengers is off to an amazing start overseas by breaking all sorts of opening day records.
After being released in just 10 territories on Wednesday, the Marvel superhero epic has earned $ 17.1 million.
Not only did the movie score the second-highest opening ever in Australia (behind the final Harry Potter film) by raking in an easy $ 6 million there, it landed the biggest opening day in New Zealand and Taiwan!
That’s just a taste of what is to come. Analysts expect the movie to earn upwards of $ 150 million during it’s first weekend in the United States.
