This is Moses at 9 months old. RIP MOSES- He died 3rd of July, 2010. He was nearly 4 years old. He stopped eating for a week and would stand all day and not move. He went blind in one eye a few months ago. I guess his mother kicked him out as a baby because she knew he was not going to make it. He lived nearly 4 happy, amazing years. He was such a great animal, and a family member. We love you so much Moses and miss you more than anything. Rest in peace baby, you are in a better place. xxxx

lol my 2 year old niece says, “teamwork” when I say, “what’s going to work” I actually find this show kind of annoying because the entire show is basically singing lol. Although I do find this show very cute and educational for children. You do have to admit that a day care/school is kinda creepy place to have talking animals secretly help other animals kinda similar to the three toy story movies. If something is intelligent then what is called evil will follow. I know it is just a kids show.:L

@forestdweller68 Yeah, I think they like shiny stuff. According to my dad, next door had a pet magpie with a simlar past to Moses who stole nails.
@biancaebony I don’t know why people are being like that, the magpie lived a happy life that he deserved and the owners did all they could do for him to have happy life.

@h3adsh0t69 I watched this video and it made me so happy, I commented. Then I noticed Moses recently died and I felt so sad. Very sorry for your loss. I know what it’s like to lose a pet with so much character and personality. RIP Moses.
I had a pet magpie when I was young – same deal – abandoned by his parents. They’re a very smart bird and LOTS of fun, as you know. Mine would come inside, but he mostly stayed outside and would come when called. He also loved his tummy being tickled, as well as having mock sword fights (finger versus beak). One day he found a girlfriend and never came back – although I’m sure I heard him every now and then – he had a distinctive call. Great video, and thanks for posting.

Does Moses like shiny things? I heard they like to steal jewellery lol. I have some coming to my window sill for seeds and bread- they are not friends with a Mother Jackdaw though- she has a fledgling who she is very protective off bless her.
That’s it, I’m going to start trying to knock baby magpies out of trees, because I want one.

Moses is such a character- you are very kind to have rescued him- had he fell out of his nest? I was surprised to see him rolling about on his back playing- never seen a bird do that before! He was funny the way he was playing with the newspaper.
He’s fantastic.. Be careful to not expose him to people who have colds.

Wonderful footage, my family would often rear baby magpies that we found during spring, usually when their parents were killed on the roads or they fell from their nests. We NEVER removed any from a nest (good luck trying). Its amazing how tame they can be, we once had one who would tap on the window, and when I went outside she would fly up to my shoulder and nuzzle in under my chin, and make little chirping noises. Usually they would revert back to a semi-wild existence as they matured.

Your policies against the pet trade have almost wiped out several bird species (e.g. Grey Cheeked parakeets in S. Am.). Stop trying to control others and master your own life.
