Looks like James is pulling the old McSwitcheroo!
Back in January, we heard that James Franco was writing/directing a film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian for producer Scott Rudin.
Guess he got bored or something, because he’s decided to shelve the project and make a film version of McCarthy’s Child Of God instead!
Here’s what James had to say about his decision to switch Cormac novels:
“We shot a 20 minute test of it that turned out pretty well. We were gearing up to do the feature but that for various reasons it’s on hold, but we are going to make a movie based on his [Cormac McCarthy's] third book Child Of God.”
For those of you who haven’t read the book, Child Of God is about “a recently-released convict who lives outside of normal society in a cave in the hills of East Tennessee and engages in necrophilia and other acts of ‘crime and degradation.’”
We suppose this shouldn’t come as a COMPLETE surprise to us! The weirder the better for James.
Have U read Child Of God? Do U think James made a good decision choosing this as his next project???
