When it comes to jewels, Drake is definitely not just winging it.
While the rapper is known for his incredible collection of blinged-out pieces, his latest diamond ring might be our favorite for its sentimental meaning.
The Grammy winner was recently gifted some serious new bling by restaurateur Kai Bent-Lee, according to TMZ, and it also came with a serious price tag.
Celebrity jeweler Alex Moss shared details of the “Lucky Number 11 Ring” with the outlet, revealing that the $77,000 bauble — which took two months to make — is made from 14-karat gold and includes 15.7 carats of stunning VVS D-F diamonds.
Featuring an owl’s face with wings that wrap around to form the band of the ring (a nod to Drake’s OVO brand), the jewelry also has a deep personal meaning for the rapper.
While Drake’s 4-year-old son, Adonis, lives in Paris with his mother, Sophie Brussaux, he’s never far from his famous dad’s heart. The ring includes a large number 11, which is a nod to the toddler’s October 11, 2017 birthday.
The Canadian rapper first confirmed he was a father in lyrics from his 2018 album, “Scorpion.” He finally shared photos of Adonis on social media in 2020, and since then, his son has become a regular feature on Drake’s Instagram.
This isn’t the first time the superstar has added an owl-themed piece of jewelry to his collection. In 2018, he purchased a 100-carat diamond bird pendant from jeweler Jason Arasheben, better known as Jason of Beverly Hills.
“The pendant was finished in six weeks and was flown to Drake in a custom birdcage that housed the diamond owl,” Arasheben told Highsnobiety at the time.
Of course, Drake also sports a massive owl tattoo on his chest, so his new custom ring will fit right in with his other feathered friends.
