JoJo Siwa is going punk rock for Pride.
The dancer partnered with Shop With Google and Paper Magazine to change up her look in honor of Pride month. Siwa posted a series of photographs with the caption, “Happy Pride ?,” showing off looks that fans have never seen before.
In one picture, the “Dance Moms” star wears a white T-shirt with rolled up sleeves and jeans with her hair slicked back.
But perhaps the most dramatic change was one photo in which the “So You Think You Can Dance” judge rocks a tall, bright purple mohawk, shaved sides and multiple earrings.
Siwanators and celebrities were equally impressed with the wild looks. Fellow former “Dance Moms” star Maddie Ziegler called Siwa a “legend” while Gigi Gorgeous commented with heart eyes.
One commenter quipped, “The first one is giving very much T-birds from Grease and I am absolutely here for it!” and another weighed in with, “on the second slide you like those crazy ass purple minions.”
During the shoot, Siwa, 19, also sported colorful tinsel extensions in her hair in pink, green, rainbow and gold and “Euphoria”-inspired makeup with hearts in her eyes and under them.
It seems that Siwa is more comfortable than ever with changing up her looks. In April, she ditched her signature ponytail for a shorter ‘do and has been experimenting with its styling ever since, at one point even channeling Justin Bieber.
The star has been waiting a long time to chop her long pony and get rid of her ever-present bows. In May, the TikTok sensation revealed she wanted to cut her hair short since she was 7 or 8, but her mom told her “absolutely not” until her team agreed.
Siwa also celebrated Pride Month alongside her girlfriend, Kylie Prew, with a series of canoodling pictures in front of a rainbow lifeguard tower. They first started dating in early 2021 and split in November of the same year, before rekindling their romance at Disney World this May.
According to Siwa, Prew encouraged her to share her truth with the world. The “Dancing With the Stars” finalist came out to the world with a shirt that read “Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever.” in January of 2021.
Now, she’s the best mohawk-wearing cousin.
