Lost Ark is coming to a PC near you later this week. The new Amazon MMORPG has a February 11 release date, exclusively on PC. Available as a free download, UK fans can start playing at 5pm GMT (that’s 9am PT if you live in the US). “Servers for all regions will open for launch on Friday, February 11 at 9 AM Pacific (5PM UTC). Players will be able to play for free at this time!” Amazon explains. Of course, if you’re willing to pay, you can actually starting playing right now. All you need is to purchase a Founders Pack, which is available on Steam. The Founders Pack contains a selection of bonus items, as well as early access.
It’s even better news if you’re an Amazon Prime customer, because you can download the Battle Item Pack as part of your subscription.
The Battle Item Pack contains the Crystalline Aura item, the Amethyst Shard Pack and the Battle Chest Bundle. The latter contains a Healing Battle Chest, Utility Battle Chest and Offensive Battle Chest.
The offer is available until March 8, at which point it will be replaced by another set of bonus items.
As for the game itself, Lost Ark is a new MMORPG containing seven huge continents, as well as countless different cultures and a huge selection of enemies.
“Embark on an odyssey for the Lost Ark in a vast, vibrant world: explore new lands, seek out lost treasures, and test yourself in thrilling action combat.
“Define your fighting style with your class and advanced class, and customise your skills, weapons, and gear to bring your might to bear as you fight against hordes of enemies, colossal bosses, and dark forces seeking the power of the Ark in this action-packed free-to-play RPG.”
The game features five different character classes, including Warrior, Martial Artist, Gunner, Mage, and Assassin.
Warriors are described as the powerhouses of Arkesia: “They may not be the most nimble, so they stand their ground and make up for mobility with cataclysmic impact.”
Martial Artists are speedy fighters that are best up close with enemies, while Gunners are better suited at distance, using high-tech firearms, bows and arrows to dispatch foes.
Needless to say, Mage characters can use spells to damage enemies and heal party members. Finally, Assassins are described as mystical characters with demonic powers.
“These mysterious melee-makers fight demonic with demonic, channeling the dark powers in the name of the light in quick, colourful attacks,” reads the official description.
If you’re interested in playing but not sure if your PC can handle it, then the full set of Lost Ark specs can be seen above.
For the best experience, it’s worth having an Intel i5 processor, 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card.
Despite the free version not launching until February 11, the game has already racked up quite the following.
The game has more than 500,000 concurrent players on Steam, as fans flock to the early access paid version.
