Both Alexis Davis and Nancy Lee Grahn are independent women who have raised children on their own and often don’t shy away from voicing their political views. In 2018, Alexis even ran for mayor of Port Charles as the more liberal candidate trying to save people’s homes from a corporate developer. Her opponent was the more conservative Ned Quartermaine (via Hidden Remote). She also championed women when she defended Olivia Falconeri when she was arrested for breastfeeding in public (via Soaps.com).
While fans don’t see scenes with Alexis posting her views on social media, anyone who follows Grahn knows she is not shy about saying just about anything she wants regarding the state of American politics and makes no secret that she is a diehard Democrat. As of this writing, she has been recently speaking out against voter suppression laws and the fact that congress was unable to pass any voting rights legislation thanks to Republicans and two Democrats blocking the bill.
“Every GOP Senator including Manchin & Sinema would be drowning in their shame if they had a conscience, but, alas. It will be the conscience of the majority of Americans who’ll determine how this is going to end, & it will end. America will live or die by our right to vote,” Grahn tweeted on January 19, 2022. However, that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t want to see Alexis match wits with someone on the opposite end of the political spectrum.
