Who’s in the Cast of Our Flag Means Death?
HBO Max’s new comedy will be led by Rhys Darby, known for starring in Flight of the Concords, What We Do in the Shadows, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Darby plays Stebe Bonnet, a wealthy gentleman who takes up pirating as a sort of mid-life crisis. He will also star alongside Taika Waititi, who will eventually portray the notorious pirate Blackbeard. But who’s on Captain Stebe’s crew? Kristian Nairn, Nathan Foad, Samson Kayo, Vico Ortiz, Ewen Bremner, David Fane, Joel Fry, Guz Khan, and Matthew Maher portray his lovable band of misfits.
But it wouldn’t be an HBO comedy without some great cameos. Leslie Jones, Nat Faxon, Nick Kroll, Kristin Schaal, and Fred Armisen are all set to star in this one. Hoist the sails for some high-flying hilarity.

Does Taika Waititi Play a Pirate in Our Flag Means Death?
He certainly does. As mentioned before, Waititi plays Captain Blackbeard, an English pirate who was one of the most feared of all time. Though he’s teased from Episode 1, Waititi doesn’t appear until Episode 3. That’s when this story really sets sail.
