Cheslie Kryst won the Miss USA title in 2019, representing North Carolina, The Hollywood Reporter reported. According to Variety, she went on to compete in the Miss Universe competition, representing the United States, and she placed in the top 10. In addition to her work as an “Extra” correspondent, which earned her two Daytime Emmy Award nominations, Kryst also appeared several other times on television, including appearances on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” “Live With Kelly And Ryan,” and “Black Girl Beauty.” She also appeared as Miss USA in “Colin in Black and White,” created by Colin Kaepernick and Ava DuVernay.
In addition to her work in television and with Miss USA, Kryst also earned both a law degree and an MBA from Wake Forest University, and she was a practicing attorney at one point. She also served as the company ambassador when she modeled for Express, and Kryst sat on the National Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
The former pageant winner recently shared a close-up photo of herself on Instagram, captioning it, “May this day bring you rest and peace.” After learning of her death, fans, friends, and others replied with their heartfelt condolences.
