The messy romantic entanglements of the characters in this 2022 quadrangle go back decades, as the characters of Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (first played by Ronn Moss, now Thorsten Kaye) go back to day one when college student Brooke met fashion house heir Ridge at a party where she was working as a catering server. Since then, Brooke and Ridge haven’t been able to stay out of one another’s lives no matter how many other people they have been with in between.
As 2021 drew to a close, Brooke and Ridge thought their latest shot at marriage was actually going to work until two people from their past arrived back in the fictional version of LA. Ridge’s ex-wife, Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen), made a comeback to visit her and Ridge’s adult children, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), and confessed she still loved Ridge. As for Brooke, her ex-lover Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) showed up wanting to grow closer to their grown daughter, Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle).
Things went wrong on New Year’s Eve when Ridge had to leave town for work and crazy interloper Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) made sure Brooke, an alcoholic, drank champagne and not sparkling cider. Brooke got drunk, kissed Deacon, lied about it for weeks, and when Ridge found out, he left her and headed straight to Taylor. That made Deacon feel he finally had a chance with Brooke. Messy, messy, indeed.
