After over a decade and a half, The Proud Family has returned to television. But fans may notice that Penny’s crew looks a little lighter than usual. If you’ve been wondering what happened to Sticky Webb, we have your back.
The tech-loving Sticky was always a welcome and useful presence when it came to Penny’s buddies. Often, he would act as the voice of reason when Penny’s ego got out of control. And when he wasn’t acting as this series sounding board, he was being stalked by the one and only Dijonay Jones. Here’s what happened to this fan favorite.
Is Sticky in The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder?
Sort of. Sticky appears in “New Kids on the Block”, the first episode of the reboot, but he doesn’t stay around for long. Early in the episode Sticky hops in a car as his family moves away. The only thing he leaves is a note for Penny (Kyla Pratt) that reads “Penny, I’m really gonna miss you guys. My dad got a job in Japan. He said I didn’t have to go, I could stay with my cousins if I wanted, but I’ve just had enough of that crazy Dijonay.” What’s most telling about this departure is that it happens without Sticky saying a word. What Is Orlando Brown Doing Now?
Sticky was originally voiced by Family Matters, That’s So Raven, and Fillmore! star Orlando Brown. The time between The Proud Family’s 2005 ending and today have been less than family friendly for Brown. In 2016, Brown was arrested and charged with domestic abuse, obstruction of justice, and drug possession after a public altercation with his then-girlfriend that involved methamphetamine. Brown was taken into custody in 2018, again for domestic battery, drug possession, and resisting arrest. There were several other attempts to avoid arrest in 2018 that eventually ended with Brown checking into rehab.
Fortunately, Brown seems to be doing better now. In 2020, the actor and rapper opened up about his recovery with The Christian Post. “I can tell you that I’m OK. I’m alive. I was in an unsafe position and it has been shaky but at the end of the day all I can tell you is I’m OK and I’m graduating,” Brown said.
Whether Brown not returning was his decision or Disney’s remains unclear. Regardless, Brown has been staying busy with his musical career. As for Sticky Webb, he’ll always live on in our hearts.

You can’t remake The Proud Family and not give Dijonay (Karen Malina White) a boy to stalk. The reboot’s new Sticky seems to be Maya’s brother KG (“A Boogie” Dubose). We don’t know much about KG yet but Dijonay sure is interested.
