There is going to be a revival in 2022 of the hit show “Law & Order,” which ran between 1990 and 2010, and resulted in many spin-offs including “Law & Order: SVU” and “Law & Order: Organized Crime, per US Weekly. With the revival, they’re bringing back some of the same actors to reprise their roles, like Sam Waterson as Jack McCoy. News of the show’s return has sparked speculation among fans that S. Epatha Merkerson might also be returning to “Law & Order” as Lieutenant Anita Van Bure.
One speculative fan tweeted, “What is Miss Goodwin doing?! Is she leaving for the Law and Order revival?! Cause I don’t like that! #ChicagoMed.” They weren’t alone, and another user tweeted, “With Law & Order coming back, I just wonder if Goodwin will be leaving Med. With Merkerson going back to NYC to be Van Buren #OneChicago #ChicagoMed.”
However, it sounds like Dr. Goodwin fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as there will be a new lieutenant on the scene in the “Law & Order” revival. According to Variety, Camryn Manheim has been cast to play Lieutenant Kate Dixon in the new series, and will replace Lieutenant Van Buren.
