Why Filming David & Annie: After The 90 Days Was Different From 90 Day Fiancé

David and Annie Toborowsky approach everything they do with an open, full heart, and this becomes clear rather quickly on-screen. This becomes especially clear in a series like “David & Annie: After the 90 Days,” where the couple is tasked with traveling across the world to offer family members better opportunities. But just how was this experience different than when they filmed “90 Day Fiancé?”

“We’re in a better place now,” David told us at The List, indicating that fans would see a happier couple than ever in the spinoff. However, he also explained this is, in part, because he hadn’t been in the United States for a long time when “90 Day” filming began. “So I was unprepared when I came back to America. Everybody says, look, you blame this, you blame it. I blame myself for the life that we had [at the] beginning, but we stuck together,” he explained.

This doesn’t mean “David & Annie: After the 90 Days” isn’t full of emotions, though. “I think I have cried in this show more than the entire show, [of] any ’90 Day Fiancé’ series we have been on,” Annie explained. She further explained that her experience filming “After the 90 Days,” in part because of these emotions, was “very different from any experience filming” she’s ever had. As for what caused some of these emotions, Annie offered, “When we left Thailand, my brother and my cousin, they are young. They [were] babies, like 9 and 12.” However, now they’re older, causing mixed emotions for Annie.

Like any “90 Day” series, “After the 90 Days” is ultimately full of heart. Are you excited to see how the season pans out?

You can catch David and Annie Toborowsky on TLC’s “David & Annie: After the 90 Days” every Monday at 9 p.m. ET.
