This week, we’re going all-out to celebrate a wonderful woman who has had a major impact in the entertainment industry over the past 13 years of her career, especially when it comes to the, well, marvelous leading performance for which she is best known. So, without further ado, give it up for your newest WCW, the remarkable Rachel Brosnahan!

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Brosnahan stars as the titular Miriam “Midge” Maisel in hit Amazon Prime Original title The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which is exclusively releasing its fourth season on the platform this Friday, February 18th. The latest season of this comedy-drama series out of Amy Sherman-Palladino kicks off in 1960, with change in the air, inspiring our characters to make moves and take names. Looking to hone her act, Midge (Brosnahan) gets a gig with complete creative freedom, but her commitment to her craft—and the places it takes her—creates a rift between her and her family and friends.
This latest season of the show features returning stars Brosnahan, Alex Borstein, Marin Hinkle, Tony Shalhoub, Michael Zegen, Kevin Pollak, Luke Kirby, and Stephanie Hsu, and also welcomes new (but already well-known and beloved!) faces in Kelly Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia, and Jason Alexander. WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Brosnahan’s professional onscreen career started strong in 2009, with roles in two feature films: horror mystery-thriller The Unborn and comedy The Truth About Average Guys. From there she was off and running, picking up a steady stream of appearances on TV shows like Mercy, Gossip Girl, The Good Wife, In Treatment, CSI: Miami, Grey’s Anatomy, Orange is the New Black, and Olive Kitteridge, as well as in films like 2011 drama Coming Up Roses, 2013 romantic fantasy-drama Beautiful Creatures, and 2013 romantic crime-drama A New York Heartbeat.
The actress quickly took her career to the next level with a string of recurring roles in series like House of Cards, The Blacklist, Manhattan, The Dovekeepers, and Crisis in Six Scenes. On top of that, she was simultaneously accruing credits in feature films like 2014 comedy-drama I’m Obsessed With You, 2015 drama James White, 2015 drama Louder Than Bombs, 2016 action-thriller The Finest Hours, 2016 crime-drama Burn Country, and 2016 action-thriller Patriots Day.
Brosnahan was then further propelled into the spotlight and mainstream fame when she began her work in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in 2017, and she hasn’t looked back since, making an impact with performances in everything from TV series Elena of Avalor and 50 States of Fright to movies 2019 animated spy-comedy Spies in Disguise, 2020 historical spy-drama The Courier, and 2020 neo-noir crime flick I’m Your Woman, to even hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live in 2019. Clearly, Brosnahan is an exemplary and talented actress who only continues to challenge herself and expand her already impressive and extensive filmography to include a varied array of genres and types of roles, and we can’t wait to see how she will continue to adapt, grow, and thrive on and off camera in the years to come!
