Nice to see Adam Lambert being so mature about all of this!

Following The Voice semifinalist Nakia’s performance of Whataya Want From Me (above), Adam Levine was impressed, but he claimed that he had never the song before.

Adam Lambert fans did NOT appreciate Levine’s comments, and they lashed out against the Maroon 5 singer on Twitter.

Here’s what Lambert tweeted about the situation:

“Yeah Nakia! Saaaang boy!! Great performance. I think Adam might know who I am after this next album. Get ready for me Levine. Hahah”

“But for the record, Im def a Maroon 5 fan.”

“Fans: there is NO reason to be angry. Thanks for being protective but it’s all good. ”

And here’s what Adam Levine tweeted in response to all the drama:

“I had honestly never heard that song before. I thought that @nakia made me like a song that would have otherwise fallen flat. I’m NOT sorry.”

It’s def surprising that Levine had NEVER heard that song, but it doesn’t seem like he had ill intentions with his comment AND given the fact that Lambert seems to be cool with it, we’re thinking maybe it’s time for everyone to let this one go.
