So there were some soldiers returning from duty in Afganistan, and Delta decides to ignore a standing contract with the armed forces and requires those soldiers to pay out of pocket for the 4th bag they’d like to check.
According to the video, the standing agreement between the government and delta is that they can check up to 4 bags for free — almost all of the luggage is required carry for the soldiers as well, including the weapons they used to defend the country. Four bags is not unusual.
Yet, Delta charged them for the extra bag — an extra $ 200 dollars out of pocket per bag past the first three!
Ridiculous! That means that the unit returning had to pay an extra $ 2,800 dollars just to bring their things home from fighting for us.
This is not how you treat our soldiers, for sure.
